About Ken
I write stories about ordinary people who suddenly find themselves in situations they never imagined—whether that’s a man with only weeks to live deciding to live properly for the first time, or a software developer discovering that ancient magic has survived into the digital age.
My books mix suspense, humour and characters who react much as the rest of us probably would when life takes an unexpected turn.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually thinking about the next story… or wondering what would happen if one impossible thing suddenly became true. I believe every good story begins with a simple “What if…?”
I’ve always loved a great story. From fantasy and science fiction books, such as Harry Harrison’s Stainless Steel Rat series and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld through to John Grisham’s legal thrillers. I would love to think that my books at least hint at those influences.
I live in Ireland. I used to love travelling, but I grew to hate airports. So now I’m happy to stay more local and enjoy reading, writing, music, movies and puzzles of all sorts.
If you’ve read one of my books—or are considering giving one a try—thank you so much for your support. If you don’t fancy my stories, I still appreciate you taking the time to have a look at my website.
I’ll leave you with a line from one of my favourite films, City Slickers. Asked whether he had killed anyone that day, Jack Palance’s character replied: “Day ain’t over yet.”
So, ask whether I’ve achieved everything I wanted to today, and I’ll give you the same answer: day ain’t over yet.
